The weather in Pittsburgh has been in the 80s since Friday morning...since the weather was nice I decided to splash her a this weekend. We had a great weekend with nothing but sunshine and very little debris in the river.

Didn't get many pics, but here are a few!

It was a beautiful weekend here... Looks like you keep it at Washingtons Landing? We just moved back to the Burgh and this will be our first year on the water up here.. can't wait to get her back in the water. Hope to see you out there somewhere!

Yes, that is where we keep the boat. Where are you keeping yours this year?

Where did you move back from?

We are going to be over at Lock Wall One... at the Cork Factory. We moved back from Maryland. We were south of Annapolis on the Chesapeake. Didn't have time to get her in the water last year with the move, new job and such. Will be spending this weekend cleaning and prepping and should splash within 2 - 3 weeks.

That is great! I know Terry Grantz that is running the marina this year. He went dated a girl I went to high school with when we were in college....about 10 years ago. Small world.

I am sure we will see you out there! Shoot me a message when you get settled and we can hook up somewhere and have a beverage!

I have been talking to Terry, seems like a good guy. It can be a very small world. I will let you know when we launch... I am sure I will have some questions being new to the rivers. I would be happy to share a beverage!
Cheers

Finally - PGH being represented on the board!
I am docked at Fox Chapel - we splashed last week and went for a rip on Sunday.
I'll PM you guys when we head down river the weekend or next - I would love to know how many "lurkers" there are the forum that are from our area.

Small world for sure! There is a lot to do on the Rivers. Fireworks after the Pirates game this Saturday, might be a little chilly! Check out Terry's website www.boatpittsburgh.com, there is an events calendar there for a listing of things to do. Sky blasts are awesome, make sure you are available to go! Beaver Valley Yacht Club's Lobester Fest in September is great! Kenny Chesney concert at Heinz Field...Steelers games....boat camping! There is plenty to do!

Shoot me a PM when you are all settled!

Sounds like a plan! Congrats on getting her in the water. I agree, finally a few PGH SR owners! I thought I was the only one :wow:

Do you do any river trips and/or boat camping? We sometimes get a group of us and camp at Murphy's Island. We hang out at 14 mile. I am so glad the season is here, what a long winter it has been!

I am still relatively new to the rivers - Murphy's is around mile 14 on the Allegheny? Right before or after lock #3? We take our dogs to swim by the islands by the turnpike bridge before lock #3.
We are thinking about heading to the North Shore for lunch on Sunday.

No Murphy's Island is further up river. 14 Mile Island is where you take the dogs to swim and is in between the Hulton Bridge and the turnpike.

Did you make it to the Northside for lunch? The weather turned out to be nice all weekend....even though they called for rain. We spent the night at the marina on Saturday after the fireworks.

Are you in the water yet?
