I crack a beer first .... I look at the deck and start thinking I could do that in the water... but as past seasons go as soon as it hits the water....no serious work gets doneI'm wrapping up my pot of coffee now and headed to my boat for the fifth Saturday so far this winter. Three of my trips so far have been cleaning/waxing the hull sides and gunnels/transom. I haven't even started on my topside yet
To go around the sides with vinegar, then water, then polish, then wax...I bet 12 hours is about what I'd estimate too. I can typically make it two times around before I crack open a beer and start slowly cleaning up for the day.
I bought a new $70 pad at West Marine last week ...I think I left $20 of it on the floor after using itI was out there working away on mine a bit today. Seems like several peeps are there trying to do the same. I got to say that if you are allergic to wool, you have no business being inside stored lol
I think what you meant is you paid $70 at West Marine for a $35 pad....I bought a new $70 pad at West Marine last week ...I think I left $20 of it on the floor after using it
God no....the blue is only compounded Waiting for the wax to show up then will head backup to wax the blue and work on the white above the rub railDid you get’er done?
I am the only boat in the fairly big building that covers the whole boat with a plastic sheet.... I get a lot of people ask why and I get the impression they think there is something wrong with me.Man Blue, the way you are stuck in reminds me of last winter. The boat behind me did some sort of sanding/painting and got their chemicals on my stern. Ruined the decals, and paint was oversprayed on me. Needless to say before I went in the water all was corrected. This year they left a little more room around me because my yard does the compounding polishing. They will always help themselves!

Every year there is something on the plastic be it bird droppings, bottom paint, water stains from a leaking roof, someone else’s rags, compound splatter and just overall dust and dirt. I’ll live with the sarcastic looks
Our boat is covered in plastic after compounding and waxing every year. Many boats are. The dumpster is full of used plastic when boats start launching and ours always seems to have bird droppings, water stains and a lot of dust.I am the only boat in the fairly big building that covers the whole boat with a plastic sheet.... Have you ever tried 3M Ultra Performance Paste Wax? Just curious...Bubble Gum Micro Polish + High Gloss Polymer | Smoove Products (smoovewax.com)
Smoove bubble gum....its more of a polymer
White Cloud High Gloss Polymer | Smoove Products (smoovewax.com)
Then white cloud for wax and a sealer...it worked very well last year. I was just trying to get rid of the Collinite that didnt end up working well at all
