Good Morning all -

Need some advice for my first time waxing and prepping the hull of my 2000 340 Dancer. Would be grateful for recommendation as to what type of hull wax to use. As well have some chipped areas of bottom paint and would like to get advice on how to properly prepare for bottom paint in these areas.

Purchased her this past summer and not sure when she was last tuned up. Any way of determining whether or not plugs, wires, etc. need to be replaced?

Thanks in advance for your input. Hopeful to have her splased in a week or so. Spring is taking her time up here in the Northeast.

My best wishes to all for a safe and enjoyable season.

All the best,

Captain Mike

There is a lot of information on what people like, where to get supplies and how to's under the forum "Fiberglass/Wood/Gelcoat Repair". I have found the information there very useful.

In my service manual for my engines it give you a time line for replacements of plugs, wires, etc. http://clubsearay.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1742
Also befriend a mechanic that you can ask questions too or can stop by to look things over for a beer. If your looking to do most the maintenance yourself it nice to have someone like that handy.

Good luck...between the rainy days and the cold it has been a slow spring coming this year.

Thanks. After checking the links, I'm having trouble locating a manual for my horizon 7.4's. Checked the Mercury/Mercruiser site and have only found manuals for stern drives. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
