That "air rifle" is no joke. My neighbor accidently killed a deer with one of those. He thought he could "plunk" it in the butt to keep it away from his plants. He is a shitty shot and hit it in the ribs. Must have hit a lung and the thing was dead in 30 seconds. Fortunately for him the coyotes and hawks stripped the carcass clean before anyone noticed. He could have gone to jail or been fined $10,000 if anyone reported him.
 
Air rifles! Now you in my neighborhood. Check out UMAREX, Precision air rifles and pistols. They make a .50 professional hunter model that can take down a cape buffalo.
Not your daddy’s shoot-your-eye-out-kid Daisy. i have one of their pistols and wouldn’t want to be on receiving end. Although.177 BB caliber, at nearly 1,000 fps it will penetrate a skull and drop a perp dead instantly. Ya, a BB pistol, even fits red dot laser. And yes, i carry, no permits required.
They have many that are legal for deer hunting in most, not all, states.
When the 2nd amendment collapses, these will be the future.

I should have specified. The boat is on land behind the garage and there are trees around. I wish I could put it in the garage but it won't fit. I will give the moth balls a try and look into an owl/hawk decoy. I really like the pellet gun idea. I could use a new toy.

If they are coming down from the trees, I don't think previously mentioned ideas to keep them off of the boat will help. Moving the boat or cutting the trees may be your only option.

I have had a full carry pistol permit for over 50 years. I also have an 03 FFL. I can order an AK47 with ammo and have it shipped directly to my house. But local restrictions won't let me receive an air rifle or pistol.

When the second amendment fails, the first amendment won't be far behind.

I wish it was that easy. Boat doesn't fit in the garage. Tree cutting is super expensive. I bought moth balls and have some squirrel repellant packs on order. Also have a hawk decoy in the cart just in case. Thank u all again for the input. Wife doesn't know but there's also an air rifle in the cart. That's my favorite idea.

Would a straw man purchase of an air rifle / pistol be illegal since it is not a firearm? NY has some weird laws.
 
Update. Even parked under trees the moth balls seem to be working. Not sure what they're doing to the carpet in the boat, but the cover seems to be safe. No new holes or gnaw marks on the tape I used to cover the existing holes.

Thank u all again.

Still may buy an airgun
