Contact Felix Chavez at Wytan Marine Electronics. 303-215-0364

Wytan manufactured the Searay Navigator and can repair if necessary.

Very likely your SR Nav internal battery is dead. You can boot by hooking up keyboard and hitting the function keys, I don't remember which one maybe F10 then reboot install time under set clock option and it will work. You will need to do this every time you power up the boat. The fix......you have to remove the whole unit and send out to replace the battery. For me the next week I am going to remove the whole unit and show it the trash can. It will be replaced with a raymarine unit..... most likely a C120W

I may do the same. Will the C120 Fit the hole that was cut in the binnicle? And I have two. Newport Boats (our local SR delaler) wants to make me a deal on the RM 80 series. Any good?

Felix can send you a CD that will allow it to boot with out the bios battery, and then the GPS will set the clock each time. You get a few warnings and have to hit OK, but it does work.

Here is the process:

Please see the following keystroke process to fix the video error on TypeII SRN systems:

1. Connect USB keyboard before turning power ON

2. Power on unit and hold down the "DEL" key

3. When the screen changes from a green/blue color to a red color, release the "DEL" key

4. Enter the following keystrokes:

M4PT3CH

"Return Key"

"Return Key"

"Up arrow Key"

"Down arrow Key"

"F10 Key"

"Return Key"

5. The system should flash a white screen and then reboot with the video problem cleared.

Sounds like a GREAT system!!!!!

Raymarine is going to replace my SR Nav. system later this week. Ray C120W should fit into existing hole left by SR Nav. Ray tech is going to confirm fit before starting the installation. SR Nav. works but I don't like how slow it responds booting up new charts. (My boat "leaves the chart" into a dark screen then 20-30 seconds later, loads the next chart.) Not very comforting. I am going to bahamas later in May, the SR Nav. is not going on this trip.

Let me first say I love mine........Let me fist say I loved my wife at first too........With that said, is there any compatibility issues or is it just a quick swap......Cost....Has anyone gone to searay to ask for some credit towards a new system...

A couple of thoughts....1.) Don't look for a handout from SeaRay. What are you going to say...I don't like SR Nav so give me a new one. (Plus it sounds like what many Americans looking for these days, a handout.) 2.) Compatibility really gets down to what your other system components are..... maybe a Raymarine E Series, C Series, (those two systems are not even compatible with each other!

Check out this thread for more info on Navigator replacement or repair. Good luck, I like my new Garmin. Sold Maptech/Koden array on ebay.

When my navigator took a dump (and everyone told me it would) I upgraded to a new Garmin touch screen. Very happy to be done with the basically outdated PC that had little or no tech support remaining. Time to move on and not look back! :smt038

Spoke to Brunswick. Very nice conversation. After Newport Boats checks it out and if its a hard drive problem, it will be pulled and sent to someone called 'Wycam"? or something to try and repair. We will see. I'm hoping its just a loose connection!

The C120 will not fit correctly into the SRN cutout. You will have two choices here to remedy the situation. Have a custom bezel trim made to replace the existing, which may then require having several made so that the entire helm area matches. The other option is to obtain from SR matching trim cut specifically for the C120. Most of the boats built during the time SRN was offered as an option also had the C120 as a choice and of course we all now know the Raymarine was the better alternative. I got lucky with my change out and was able to obtain the matching C120 trim.

How very interesting that SR is still playing the same song and having their customers go through a very expensive and time consuming futile process to “repair” these units. This equipment was a mistake and when broken is not fixable to the point of being dependable at sea.
