My starboard batteries are always lower than the port side. 12.2 V or less versus 13.8 V. I have 4 batteries, probably originals (360 SD 2005). After 1 or 2 days anchored, I got an alarm when I'm cruising (3400rpm) on my Smartcraft that Portside batteries are too low (11 V). Alarm will go off when I slow down (2000rpm). I have started my Gen to be able to get back to the marina.

When at achor, I usually turned off 1 fridge (I have 2 fridge plus 1 freezer) and start the generator for about 1 hour before to go to sleep.

Could it be my alternator that does'nt recharge when cruising ? How long should last a battery ?
Should I just use my generator more..?

Any idea what could be my problem ?
Thanks

Time for new batteries! If it's like the 340, the port side is the house side. These take all of the wear from deep cycling. I'd like to recommend Optima Blue Top Deep Cycle batteries. Replace all of them at the same time to save the new batteries from abuse while the charger tries to charge the older ones.

The old ones are good for 3 - 4 seasons max.

My problem was just a loose connection between the batteries and the alternator!!!
