If not mistaken, that has the hallmarks of a pod seal failure. When were the seals last changed?View attachment 104278 View attachment 104279 View attachment 104280 View attachment 104281 View attachment 104282 View attachment 104283 View attachment 104284 View attachment 104285 Coming across the lake today I got a message about my trim tab. Then get these error messages. Pull into dock and go into the bilge to find oil leaking everywhere. When I open the cap it is filled to the top... not sure what this is
This is what I have that was done in or around that time frame. I’m going over to my pod mechanic tomorrow but god knows that this time of year is going to be hard to get them to stop and look at it.Did they give you the individual parts by chance?
Are the repairs under warranty ?
@Richey rich
I think you need to have your zeus tech out to the boat...
Thanks. The work was done over 1500 miles from where I now keep the boat so not thinking any warranty would apply. So it looks like I am on my own. Hoping it’s not anything that is going to cost a fortune or keep me landlocked for to long. Thanks for your advice!Without specific part numbers hard to say with certainty but the description says they replaced seals.
I would speak to the people who performed the service and get a clarification on what was done and what if any warranty is on the work performed
At the end of day, it does appear to me that a seal is failing and this will need to be addressed before your next outing.

I see that too. You know if that’s a repair that can be done in the water? Or haul out required?See the attached, it may help narrow down your issue
I'm thinking it's the seals on your steering actuator.
Ya, figured thy can replace seals in the water but would have to haul out anyway to change gear lube.Pretty sure that's a haul out.
I think they now sell all the seals that are in the actuator, so it can be repaired rather than replaced.
Well, stopped by my Zeus mechanic. He said defiantly seals on steering actuator is what caused my problem. Got to shore the boat up and maybe even pull the pod off to access it. He can’t get me in for a couple weeks. Just launched and already coming back out. Summers in Michigan are so short, not the way I wanted to start my season!Pretty sure that's a haul out.

Haven’t tried to call him yet but I definitely can. Worth a call anyway I guess.So sorry to hear that.
Not that i think it will help, but did you call the tech that did the previous service to find out what they did?
If nothing else, the parts themselves(while i do acknowledge they are relatively inexpensive) may be warrantied.
Dealing with Bob at Bayview. I’ve never had any service done at colony so I figured my best Bet at getting it done anytime soon I would be going back to Bayview. They seem to do good work and are fair. Do you have pods and in the area? Have you had this done?Based on you repair log, it doesn’t appear that anything was done with steering actuator seals. Are you working thru Colony or Bayview Yachtcrafters for Zeus work?
I’m at MacRay and do have pods. I have not had any issues to date with the actuator seals but do know that Bob has done a few. I’m sure he will get to taken care of in short order.Dealing with Bob at Bayview. Yes, they are good guys over there. Just wish I could get it in a bit quicker but thankfully it is still early May. What boat do you have?I’m at MacRay and do have pods. I have a 2009 48DA with Zeus. I brought around Labor Day last summer and ran it from the western MI.Yes, they are good guys over there. Just wish I could get it in a bit quicker but thankfully it is still early May. What boat do you have?
