ok, I have a 480 sedan bridge with Cat engines. Who in gods name thought it would be smart to design a boat and power plant so that standard failure items means the engine must be lifter up. The way the starter in mounted just inside a stringer makes zero access without disconnecting shaft and raining engine on the mounts. So in order to do this, I had to take out all items on my port salon and then remove the floor panel. This is insane for a starter. Just sayin!

When you put the panel behind the couch back in, put the screws in from the opposite side from where they came out. That way if you ever have to remove again the screws are easily accessible. Removing the starboard side is easy and I recommend doing it to make the starter job a little less of a hassle. Just remove breakfast nook and hatch will open.

Hey Keith,
Thanks. I have taken out my salon 4 times. We are able to remove carpet, bar, corner cabinet, couches, bolster, and floors separated in 1hr 20 minutes. I am ashamed we can do it so quickly. I pull my floors every 2 years for winter work.
