Starting issues

My Merc 5.0 MPI Bravo3 has started and ran great first 4 times out. Today when I started engine it would start right up but then shut off after about 2 seconds. I pushed the button on throttle and advanced it and engine would start and stay running. After about ten minutes of idling at higher rpm I would shift back into normal idle and it would continue to run. Any suggestions on what the problem could be?

IAC valve is where I’d start.

that’s the Idle air control valve.

It’s an easy replacement. Google it or search on YouTube for more info.
