2005 200 Select, just bought used, 70 hrs, been in salt-water all its life. Sterero is not working, getting ready to trouble-shoot. Can anyone tell me switches that have to be on to get power to unit? Has accessory switch (toggle) on dash. Is that power on switch for the stereo? Does ignition switch have to be on or does it have a accessory position? Not trying to be too simple but boat is stored 45 minutes from me and wanting to get a lead if possible before I head out to trouble-shoot. Have checked the 3 fuses in wiring and all appear to not to have blown. Clarion unit, hopefully it is a problem in a connection somewhere.

I'm not really a wizz at electrical but i bet if you got yourself a multi-meter or even cheaper, a voltage tester (has a bulb that lights up when power is available and the other end is earthed). Start at the stereo and work your way towards the battery checking for power. Check for power at the battery side of your fuse blocks, switches etc hopefully you'll find your problem. Grab some 2 core wire and run from the battery straight to stereo by-passing everything to check if stereo is ok? Hope this helps.

What ever you do.... dont touch red and black wires together or all the magic smoke will fall out of the wire!!! LOL

Good luck

That wil depend on how SR wired it. Or who ever....Ya those red and black don't do well if hot touched together
