Stern drive won’t go up

Hi all, I just bought my first boat, a 92 sundancer 270 with the 7.4 merc and bravo 3 setup. I knew buying it that the stern drive would only go up using trailer button, goes down fine now however I just replaced tilt and trim solenoids because the down one went after the first day out after we trailered her home, so while I had the pump out I replaced both solenoids hoping that would fix my up issue, it didn’t, so my question is where else could I look for problem, I did test pump it is good, the button on the quicksilver shifter/throttle is a little questionable, loose, wobbly. Has anyone ever replaced just that switch or install your own switch. Thanks

I’d check the trim limit switch on the outdrive. That’s the round black puck on the outdrive.

+ if drive goes up with trailer button, but won't with trim button, it's the trim limit - either needs to be replaced or adjusted.

Won't hurt anything, use the tilt button to trim the drive, just don't overtrim it -- that's what the limit switch does.

The trim limit switch is on the port side of the out drive.

Thanks, I just did the trim limit switch bypass for now, glad to know it is the switch, and do not have to troubleshoot any further.

Replace both while at it. It is a bit of a pita, so don't cheep out with the aftermarket ones. The $50 you thought you saved will get eaten up quickly.
