Subwoofer Stereo System in a 195 Sport

Okay - I have done searches just like the above member but still cant find any posts/threads that show any photos or recommendations or good discussions about where everyone is installing their systems in our 195 sports (2006 and later). If anyone has any ideas/comments, I would love to discuss!

Thanks so much!

I believe that the 195 sport is laid out exactly like my 2005 185 sport. See below for how I installed my system. You can see some different angles of the sub in some of the later pictures.

This is under the passenger dash. You can see my front speaker (and enclosure) and the sub. Everything on the boat is Infinity. The speakers are marine, everything else is standard automotive.

These are mounted under the rear bench seat -

These two batteries are dedicated to the stereo. The engine battery is on the other side of the boat. There is an combiner between them that closes the circuit when the motor is running, thus charging both battery banks. When the engine isn't running, it keeps them seperate, so that I could completely drain the stereo batteries, but have no problem starting the boat.

Here are a few shots of the tower and speakers -

This is the interior lit up by the LED rope lights I installed. The camera really doesn't do it justice... it's not really this bright while sitting in the boat. The lights are all up under the sides, so you never see them directly. They give off the perfect amount of ambient light after dark.

Thanks man! Looks good... However, in 2006 Sea Ray changed the layout so we dont have this space under the dash anymore... Here are a few pics - not my boat but same layout...

I put a 8" bazooka tube under the bow port side seat. I'll try and upload some pics tomorrow.

Texas,

That install looks Great!!! did you do it yourself, or have shop do it? Was the glass cut out under the rear bench for your amps?

the 2006 did change some. there is glass that runs from the dash to teh deck with storage holes cut out. it lookslice, but I would rather have full access like the yours.

Once again, the system looks great.

Here are a couple of pics of the bazooka tube I installed under the bow seat on my 185. It's not the 8" tube as I posted earlier but a 6" tube, I got confused. lol... It's not going to win any sound comps but it does sound much better than no sub at all. I used the stap to hold it down to the devider wall with a couple of wood screws and it has not moved. Over the offseason I plan on having a local boat audio shop install a custom box with either a 10" or 8" sub in the same location. Pics are not the greatest quality as I took them with my Iphone at dusk.

I did the install myself a couple of years back. All in all, it's probably a little overkill, but I can play the stereo a full day at full volume before the batteries die... Then it's not problem to start the boat with the main battery. I'll do it all again when I get a bigger boat.

Thanks for the kind words.

I have a 2010 195 Sport and I have a 10" JL infinite baffle sub I want to put in. Where would be a good location for that? From what I have read some people put it between the ice chest, would that fit without removing either cooler? I was thinking about mounting it below the deck, but would that make the CD player skip? Also the place you could put it below the deck would require cutting to get it to fit and have the sub at an angel, would that be bad or risk falling out if you ride on choppy water?

Any input would really help. I want to be able to have the sub to balance out the 2 JL tower speakers I bought.

Seems best place for the amp is in the bow seat. Seems easiest access.

This is what I bought altogether.

Sub:
M10IB5-CG-WH - Classic Grille - White

Towers:
M770-ETX-SG-TB - Sport Grille - Titanium/Black

Amp:
Alpine
PDX-5M 5 Channel Amp

I have a 08 185 and have 2 10" JL audio marine IB's mounted in the kick panel under the rear bench seat. At first I was just gonna leave the coolers out (they suck as for holding ice. Used them for empty beer cans mainly) but did a little trimming on the foam insulation and they fit perfect. I will post some pictures later.
