Replaced the leaking vent window gasket on my 2000 310DA and still have a problem. The top of the vent window doesn’t press down far enough to seal. The bottom does. The gasket sure seems to be correct, it’s profile is the same as the old one - it’s the WS100 from Flounder Pounder which their webpage also confirms to be the correct one for this boat.

I see no way to adjust how “deep” the top of the vent window goes into the frame. It’s clearly deeper into the frame down low.

I did try to add some foam weatherstrip under the gasket. That helped but didn’t solve it and I think I need more dense material if building up the gasket is the only solution. It would seem adjusting the window to press down deeper into the frame makes more sense but short of adding some shims/spacers where the hinge mounts to the vent window I don’t see how.

Any ideas?

If I remember right, when I did this on my 420, there are some small rubber spacers that fit between the hinge on the vent and the vent window itself....

Looks like the hinges are either worn or bent. The glass should be level in the frame when closed or at least very close to it.
Hinges seem fine, see attached pics. I suppose the lower edge of the window might be pushing down farther because it’s (I think) adjustable where the motor attaches to the lower part of the vent window. I will double check the hinges aren’t worn at the rivet but they sure looked OK.

But I guess you are saying there is no adjustment up there regardless, huh?

Yes, those are in place. See a second pair of pictures I posted in another reply.

Those damn vent windows are a pain. If the gasket is old then its not getting smashed enough to seal by the window. I used some closed cell foam and made my own gasket. It works for 2-3 years but the material I used don't like the sun-eventually cracks.

It’s a very nice feature but, yes, seems like the gasket isn’t a simple fix because they aren’t made anymore. So you are left guessing what the right type really is. I see another style that might work better, will see if my marina has it because I don’t really want to spend another $50 to determine that is wrong too.
