BillnPat - I would be worried too... especially with this cold snap coming through. I'm not sure how handy you are... but there are a few things you can do yourself to at least buy you time. Like pulling drain plugs off the engine... running the water system dry (not good enough but better than nothing). Keep all your facets open at least to allow some expansion... among others.

I boat out of Lindenhurst as well... hopefully we can meet one day for a beer in hemlock or somewhere else.

Good Luck!!!

Great ...we will do that....

Were not mechanically incline to do that, were hoping since the boat is at M.M. that they would be aware of the danger

not sure what we should do....

Can you have the boat pulled in CT... winterized... then transported? Maybe just give them a call and get their advice. Who knows... they may just do a few quick things for you out of curiosity.

When we first saw the boat it was on blocks winterized, then we made plans for the survey the next week, when the surveyer came they put the boat in the water and we took it out for the running survey.the boats still in the water waiting for transport

i guess before we took it out for the survey run they un winterized it...maybe its still somewhat winterized??

Did you just buy this boat from MM? If you have not taken delivering yet don’t worry, they should be taking care of all those details. In fact you should have gotten the winterization in the deal.

YES we just bought the boat....we have NOT taken delivery till april 1st

Technically i guess even though its fully $$$ paid for, they still have possession till its delivered to us

it would be in there best interest to get it to the final locale...they plan to drive it there in this cold

ahhhh ok... Yea I agree with hack4alivin. If you are not taking delivery until April then i would say they are taking care of all of that for you. Still doesn't hurt to give them a call so you sleep well this winter

MM has a very good policy when they sell used Sea Rays, they will make sure the boat is ready for you in April when you take delivery.

I have bought several boats from them, usually at the end of the season when the boat gets put away until April, and I have been very happy with their service. If the MM up there is anything like the one down here in Joppa you have no worries

Congratulations on the boat, and good luck with your spring “splash day”.

That is what I call “value added”.

When buying several boats from MM down here all those things were taken care of for me. The winterizing was thrown into the deal, my slip fee for the year was thrown in, and engines had the spark plugs replaced, oil and filter changes. Dock lines and all your C.G. safety gear, flares, PFD’s, and a bunch of other stuff as well. The year I traded my 280 at the end of the season on the 320 I avoided all of the winterizing cost on the 280, no payment for shrink wrap or winter storage, plus got the next seasons slip for free. All of which would not cost MM a lot, but it was a big value to me.

So if this is your first boat, don’t go out buying lines and fenders and that kind of stuff yet, wait till after you take delivery and see what you need.

Again, good luck.

MM SS3 is a pretty good place to buy a boat. Very competent service staff, even more so when you develop a relationship with your service writer. They had a few tough years when they were first bought by MM but I think they've gotten that all worked out now. Good luck.

 Thanks guys.....
We appreciate your words

Bill......
