Don’t hire a Surveyor without checking past clients! We paid big money to a Surveyor outta San Francisco (we even got charged travel time!!) We did not check past clients or references 
because our Broker (who was Very good, we’d known him for long time) referred this Surveyor. Awful!! REALLY Awful! Bitched so much our Broker paid the fee! But we were left with no usuable survey. Our bad, lesson learned….pass it along….CHECK PAST CLIENTS! If a Surveyor won’t provide past clients, look for one that will!!

I had a horrible experience with a surveyor in Ohio many moons ago. He was even accredited. I ended up disputing his payment with my credit card company after the fact. That got his attention.
So yeah, check references AND pay with a credit card

Same here. Accreditation is meaningless, only means they paid last years dues.

Just wondering, what was the name of the company where the surveyor? No different than a home surveyor/inspector. Have truck, have ladder, have flashlight, find something "wrong" to validate my services to the buyer - I am a surveyor And never trust a sellers broker especially when the broker says "This guy is really good, I use him on all my surveys"
