I have a 2000 290 Amberjack. i need to replace my swim ladder. Since the boat is in winter storage and is too far to take measurements does anyone have the dimensions including the mounting bracket holes?

It would help to see a picture, but most likely, it was made by GG Schmitt and sons. Take a look at their website and see if you can match it up then contact them.

Tried them. Their retail is not opening till March

Not surprised. A lot of smaller companies are in the same "boat" right now. Covid issues. You could try your local Sea Ray dealer and maybe they'd still have one laying around - possibly Sea Ray still has a few. But other than that, wait till March.

Last summer my ladder broke. Thought of replacing it but ran into the same issue on OEM availability. After market ladders simply were not satisfactory. The ones I saw were not nearly robust enough. Not sure what you have but I discovered a metal shop in the local area that fabricated the required parts and welded it back better than new.

Sea ray wanted 650 for a new one. Mine just came apart.. the rubber slides that allows it to telescope are dry rotted

Ditto

My ladder broke in two places and the mounting brackets were mostly wasted away. My fabricator fixed the teliscopong ladder and fabricated new mounts. Price was $375. I thought it a bit pricy but its been awhile since I had any metal work done and the price of OEM unit was $650 plus and they aren't in the system. The company that made the ladders for SeaRay was relocating from Florida to North Carolina at the time I inquired. They were waiting to fabricate different models in batches as their manufacturing facility got up and running. That was then, Lord knows what's happening to them now. The after market units looked pretty flimsy. The ladder I have now is actually more robust than the OEM unit. Bottom line; take your pices and parts to a reputable fabricator and see what he can do. Worst he'll tell you is he can't do it. Might give you a lead to some place that can do what you want.

Mine is out getting welded right now should be the same as the amberjack.
It should be done this week if you can wait I can look for manufacturer or give you dimensions.

It's GG Schmitt.

Did you try using the phone to call them? Sometimes you need to do more than just look at a website ;) I don't know if they can get you the part you need right now - but you should be able to at least talk to a real person.

I called GG Schmitt about a month ago and was told they were not doing any retail sales at the moment and to try back in 6-8 weeks. I ended up ordering a universal type telescoping ladder from Flounder Ponder Marine. Its is very similar to the OEM ladder that was on my boat with the exception of the brackets and way that the grab rail is mounted.

The replacement ladder had a lag bolt on each side that screwed the telescoping part of ladder into the grab rail (top rung of ladder). The original has a long bolt that goes all the way from one side to the other through the sliding mechanism and grab rail. I was able to reuse the original brackets, sliding mechanism and grab rail using the long bolt to attach the new ladder. I did not have to drill new holes in the swim platform.

I'm not sure if the ladder is the same on your boat, but the one from Flounder Pounder may work for you.

Tried FP. What I need is the sliding mechanism. The are made of rubber and just dry rotted. Hence I have a ladder that is in 2 pieces. Looking now for the sliding mechanisms if not I'll have to improvise

Those are made of a product called Delrin (I believe) - they are a long-lasting "plastic on steroids". It'd be worthwhile to get in touch with GG as they're your only option for replacement pieces.

Just got mine back
No part number but its Schmidt and sons

Hi, I just repaired my ladder, but during the reassembly, I dropped a collar for the bolt in the water. Would anyone have a clue on how to find one of these?

Is it made by GGS&S? See the responses above.
