Haven't seen any pics of this fixture yet.

Anyone know how to access the bulb? The plastic lens at the bottom is glued in.

Doesn't the distal end of the shade twist off relative to the end (base) containing the bulb? Looks like should be able to twist along that seam.

This sounds harsh. But the plastic lens pulled easily off on mine. Changed the bulb. Re cemented the lens with superglue as it came from the factory!
Never a problem in the last 2 years I had the boat.

This sounds harsher.. pull plastic lens off, change bulb, throw plastic lens in trash barrel.

The whole plastic end comes off, not just the clear part. (same ones on my boat). If you are replacing your fixtures, I will buy a couple of them from you (two of mine are damaged).

Actually, the plastic lens is there to protect one from the UV rays that halogen lamps emit. I replaced mine with LEDs.

Thanks Everyone!! I had to leave today before logging back on, so I'll tackle it tomorrow and report back with a pic.

I am keeping the fixture and using LED's 1watt at the replacement. (Unless anyone knows of a kick-ass LED fixture to use?)

....anyway, thank you again. I'll have a pic of the assembly apart.

After a fruitless hunt for something we liked in a white finish, we're loving these in satin nickel (you can get chrome, too). Our only challenge was the mounting is smaller than the previous fixtures, so I had to get a little creative while installing to re-use/cover the old screw holes in the wall fabric.

MarineBeam offers a few other styles, as well, both dimmable and non.
