I have a 2005 420 Sundancer with 480 CE Cummins engines. The system monitor was unplugged when it was purchased. I plugged it in and it flashes all systems ok. When I turn the ignition switches on there is an alarm and it reads data link failure. Checked some grounds and even ran a new one with no change.

I went to my local Marine Max and was told they don't work on anything older than 2006! Any opinions on the next step or has someone had this problem?

Cummins will send a tech to your boat....No need to involve the boat dealer. I have the same set up and have never had that problem. Good Luck.

Is this the SeaRay Systems Monitor (Black with a green, two line dot matrix lcd) or a Cummins ED4 Display (you'd have two)?

The SeaRay Systems Monitor. That is why I talked to the SeaRay dealer. Cummins does not know anything about this item.

Well I guess this thread went dead? I know the link to the thread I posted has some good information in it which took some doing for me to find it.
