My Systems Monitor has issues. It's the newer style with the reset button and lcd screen. It shows a row of letters across the top. I will hold in the reset button for a bit then it shows what it always used to show ( Sea Ray Boats all systems normal). After a while it goes haywire again.
Any idea what's up? I assume the LCD screen is hooked to some sort of moitoring device that is having problems. I can't find it.

I've had mine get all stupid on me two times...

There is a coax cable that goes from the display to a little computer system that is probably in the bilge. Mine is mounted on the bulkhead between the engine room and lazarette area. The coax connector was not crimped properly and just fell apart on the connection to the computer in the engine room.

The other time I had a ground wire from the display to the ground come loose. On mine, the thing is grounded to the panel of switches by the throttles (it's like 7 switches wide by 4 switches high... I think you have something similar). I pulled that switch panel and several wires had come out of their crimps and one of them happened to be the ground for the Sea Ray Systems Monitor. I fixed the crimps and it all went back to normal. That was several years ago and I have not had any problems since then...

My 2 cents...

Sea Ray sucks at doing crimps... Every coax crimp on my boat looked like it was done by a 4 year old. Ridiculous.

Don't mean to steal a thread but.....

My 2004 320 did not come with a system monitor but I want to put one in. Would the boat already have the computer installed and I would just plug in the monitor or would it be more involved in getting the monitor to work correctly?

What would I be looking for if I was to go looking for the computer? anyone have pictures or a description?

Again, sorry about the hijack.

Well I checked all the connections going to the LED and computor box and everything was OK. It appears the day Sea Ray did my wiring for the systems monitor they accidentally got it right.
Turns out Mr. Computerman gets the cupie doll. Got one from FP, installed it and everythings back to normal.
Once again this site saved me several hours of troubleshooting. Thanks Guys.
