Systems Monitor

I've searched the forums, but haven't figured out how to force the search function to honor quotes, such as "systems monitor"... but that is another thread...

So, my question is, what the heck does this thing monitor? Does it simply repeat low oil or high temp warnings? Does it do anything cool or unique?

My new-to-me 360DA has one, but my current 280DA doesn't. The downloaded user manual for the 360DA doesn't seem to mention this device.

One my 320DA, it monitors when the various bilge pumps are running, and sounds an alarm when either of the high water pumps run.

I looked at the wiring schematic and it looks pretty impressive on a 2004 340 DA.
