My tachometers are not in snyc but the but the sync indicator is in the middle and the boat feels right in sync.

Any solutions for the bad tach?

Thanks

I doubt the tach is bad if it seems normal other than reading wrong rpm's. There is a screw adjustment on the back of the tach that allows you to fine tune the reading. Try adjusting it before spending any money for repairs or replacement.

One of my tachs is off by about 100 RPM, and the sync looks to be tied to the tachs. I know where to set them on the guage, but use sound to fine tune them. I think I'll try Frank's suggestion.

In the meantime, I know where the sweet spot on the sync guage is, and use sound to fine-tune them from there.

I emailed Sea Ray and there is no adjustment in the back of the tack. The only adjustment is for 4-6 or 8 cylinder engine.

What can I tell you......My boat has diesels, not 4-6 or 8 cyl engines and they are adjustable.

If your tachs are a new electronic design that does not get its signal from the alternator feed, then call that same guy at Sea Ray and tell him to order you a set of tachs that works right.

mine seem to get stuck higher or lower quite a bit on my 2003 320...the fix, take the flat of your palm and give them a smack! Mine return to normal with a litte smack.

That's what my wife says about me!

My synchronizer guage on my 2002 340DA started to read incorrectly about 25 hours after I owned it (I owned it to 260 hours). I just used my ear to sync them. A little annoying, but better than not knowing.
