One of the knobs that holds my bow hatch in the open position was damaged when I bought my boat. The threads on the knob were messed up. Last summer I took a tap and die set to the marina and chased the threads on the knob. It worked fine for the rest of the year.

Last weekend, I opened the hatch, and tried to tighten the knob. It would not budge in either direction. I have no idea what changed.

I just called Taylor Made and spoke with a very nice lady who said that she will be sending me 2 new knobs and 2 new "collars" on Monday. No charge. I never would have guessed that they would send anything free of charge, particularly in today's economy.

If your hatch knobs are messed up, give them a call.

Thanks Taylor Made!!! :smt038

Curious, what knob are you talking about? Have a picture?

In theory we have the same boat, but your description doesn't match anything I can think of.

I think with the cold spring night air and the warmer cabin there is a lot of condensation on that area. Squirt the threads with some "Tri-Flow". Your local locksmith should carry it. It's a great spray lube that has many uses on a boat. It will protect those threads and keep them fresh and corrosion away.

Chuck,

See page 20 of the official Taylor Made Parts guide. They are the 2 parts labelled "Pab@hhjke" and "Ckdfkyt$", right next to the part labelled "P#&gkl2.@$" :smt043

Ok... found another page on the TM website with pictures. See items B-D... I am talking about the knobs on the hatch riser arm. Now I'm suprised that they didn't try to sell me the whole assembly.

I had a corrosion probem with Just Ducky's windshield frame. I told the dealer, but they never did anything eventually I got to Taylor, but by then was a bit out of warranty. The head of customer support asked for pictures, which I sent. He called back and said he would send two guys down to fix it. The came down in the fall from NY, disassembled the frame and took the parts back to the shop. In the spring, the reinstalled the frame. They completely fabricated a new frame instead of just re-powder coating the old one. They also updated the seals and track fillers with their new style material.

Excellent customer service.

Ahhh, those buggers. Based upon your statement, "One of the knobs that holds my bow hatch in the open position.." I was thinking further forward. Silly me.

Thanks for clearing it up.

They do have great CS. They charge a premium for their products, but they are a premium product. I had a problem with a rail mount flag holder I bought. The spot where you screw the knob into tighten against the flagpole wasn't threaded properly. No questions asked, mailed me a new one. I can't say I'm surprised to see them bend over backwards like that for Frank. Good CS can go a LONG way....
