My wife constantly smells gas or something burning.
These things are never present but we’ll never burn up with her nose on duty.

I recently saw her with her new boyfriend. I could tell that she was already making him miserable. I'd say the price was right.
At least I know for sure now that it wasn't me...
you can also buy tea tree spray from starbrite. Works pretty well
Our new boat is a combination of carpet, heads, and some standing water I found in the floor void. I'll take care of the obvious ones and it will 'lose' the smell as we live on it more.
You might also clean/replace the shower sumps and flush the sink plumbing if it hasn't been done.
None of that is exactly what you described in the original post but it could be part of the smell
