The future of EVs? Maybe not so bad?

The cost of utility power is escalating beyond reason. July 2021 dock power bill was just shy of $90 - I just paid my marina invoice for July 2022 and the power component was over $180. All of our power plants in this area converted to NG several years to lower emissions and consumer cost....
We are in an age of deception and ignorance.

My power company spilled coal, ash into our rivers and then raised the rates to clean it up.

I could have posted this in several places but this felt appropriate as some here have scoffed when we say some of the crazy things that we have heard said about EV’s. This is how stupid some are…

My off peak rate has remained the same for several years. $.06/kWh.

Because they can. Biden's administration isn't going to do anything about it, they love it.

You guys should move to the Peoples Republic of Newsom. My power bill at my California house for July was just over $1K. For the month. The best part is we have been at our place in Oregon (where my July electric bill was $61.00) for the past three months. And they said I used more power this July than last July. All while not being at home. This is lunacy here.

yep. My boro does that. We have 5 wards and seems they do a round robin to overcharge 1 ward for a month or 2 then move to the next ward when people complain.

No it will not. That is because the majority of young couldn’t care less about hot cars. The whole fast EV thing was a marketing ploy for the likes of you to get positive buzz from some of the car guys.
While there are exceptions, youth today are more interested in handheld electronics than powerful cars of any power source.

It is old guys that are driving the muscle car renaissance we are in. When we die off few will give a shit about any muscle cars.

My 16 yr old son shows me modified cars on a daily basis, he likes muscle cars just as much as he likes an EV. I agree there are youth that could care less about cars, but there are still some that do.

A significant group don’t even care about getting a drivers license. That was freedom to our generation, but freedom to them is in their hand and their parents have been a personal Uber their entire lives, no need to drive…

While that may be true, my kid couldn’t wait to drive. During her graduation, all of her friends showed up in their own cars, at the same time. Reminded me of when I started driving. I teased them and asked why they couldn’t coordinate and bring one vehicle. Of course I got the chuckle and look at your shoes response, but we did the same thing at that age.

If you remember the Steve Martin flick, ‘My Blue Heaven’, he gets in his car and drives one house over. That was me in S.CA in the 80’s and early 90’s. You went everywhere with your own car. Going to a party? Everyone followed one another in their own cars.

I always get a laugh at this type of response to my post. Why? Because most members of this forum are exceptional members of society. Successful in life and other issues we discuss like kids. Only 12% of our population owns a boat of any type and I would guess just a couple of percent have a SR type boat. We are anecdotal…
