I just couldn't get them to lay right at the compound curve in the bow. Going to party naked I think

Dri dek in the storage compartments

I got the freshwater system flushed and sanitized. I think I need to replace the bathroom faucet/shower head. Not much hot water flow at all. I may replace the duckbills as a precaution since I know there's been a few gallons of water through recently

Looking to do a second coat and install the Bimini's and new curtains this week.

Planning to launch Sunday :D

Lookin' better and better!

Don't beat yourself up on the hull stripes - it takes practice to get them right. One trick is to tape them around the aft corner to secure it, then do the entire length in one motion. Soapy water is your friend!

Bathroom faucet... Are you saying you get good cold flow, but not hot? Do you have good hot flow from the galley faucet?

Thanks! It's been a big undertaking to get it to this point for sure. I think I'm going to pay someone to do the stripes next season. That kind of thing is not my forte. Maybe Mrs and I will try it, not sure yet.

I have good flow from hot and cold everywhere in the boat. I'm wondering if there is a restrictor to prevent scalding that has mineral buildup. Every faucet had mineral buildup in the strainer. I soaked all the strainers and the shower head in CLR to remove it. Coincidentally it lso ruined the finish on the shower wand so I may just replace the whole works anyway.

Not sure how I missed this, but I never posted the results of detailing! Pictures don't do it justice

Head faucet... there's no anti-scald preventer. But if you didn't actually disassemble the faucet, it could very well still be clogged. Unscrew it from the hose... good flow then? The issue is inside the faucet and take it apart. Still no flow? Backtrack - starting at the hot/cold line fittings under the sink.

The head flows fine, not much comes out of the hose. It could be the valve cartridge. I was going to start digging into it but I didn't feel like it last night. I'm going to see what kind of flow I get out of the PEX line with the faucet disconnected.

My $ is on faucet though

I've really enjoyed reading this thread. Great work! Thank you for sharing and posting such an in depth write up.

Stray, You have done an excellent job on that beautiful boat! GOD speed. JC

Thank you both! I appreciate the kind words. Hopefully my little project inspires others.

Bottom paint is wrapped up, 2 coats of West Marine CPP ablative after a quick sand and touch-up of the existing barrier coat.

If you've been following this thread you saw the condition of the original generator exhaust hoses. In the process of testing my genset in the shrink-wrap, I had 3 CO detectors and a ducted blower setup with a few vents in the wrap. I still set off my factory CO detector. So now I know that works. I decided to install a second battery unit since we intend to use the genset at night for air conditioning a lot!

PSA! Check your exhausts, detectors and add at least one other detector! Your lives depend on it all working!

Perhaps a touch oversized for the sink, but not too shabby for $50 on clearance at lowes. It will do the job, really only intend to use it to shower.

Of course every one of these f****** things leaks now. Guess I need new glands.

Whoever decided that the door that doesn't stay open should be halfway off center of the doorway in front of a step with a lip should be shot. Seriously

Or at lease get a really bad papercut...

These freaking things are like unobtainium.

Depot? No
Blowes? No
Plumbing supply? No
Werst Marine? No

I have a dozen shipping from freshwatersystems.com

Nothing like paying 20 bucks for shipping 5 bucks worth of parts! I just want the damn things because there's no fresh water system until I have them.

as I was screwing around in the boat tonight, the vacuum generator started running constantly. So now duckbills and bellows are a sure thing. I'm going to see if I can find a write-up on this pump. Fortunately the part numbers are on it

Replaced my broken cockpit shower door, so that's all wrapped up. Still couldn't get my bathroom faucet to stop leaking, even with o ring grease. Aggravating!

I'm thinking I have the faucet, tab zincs, vacuum pump, magma mount, and reinstallation of the Bimini's left.

Unfortunately the radar dome has to come off to trailer so the Bimini's will have to go back on at the dock.

I'm considering ordering the sailrite snap tool to install the new isinglass once it's in. Anybody have any feedback? T

vice-grip unit from great lakes top just doesn't seem to compress the snaps enough no matter what.

Wondering what's going to shake out once it hits the water. Getting a little punchy

Got a little something back from the graphic designer. Maybe I'll have it printed in time for the weekend

Don’t be too quick on assuming the duckbills and bellows are the problem. Find something to plug the hole in toilet and start troubleshooting. Mine turned out to be the 2 o-rings on the flush ball shaft. I have the snap tool from sail rite. Not cheap but works as advertised. Made easy work when I installed cockpit cover.

I ordered that kit too. The whole works is original 2007. It's time

Final draft, out for print!

I tried the new washers, no good. This little setup did the trick!

Naturally after leaving the pump on and the system under pressure for a few hours the hot side started to drip. Back to the hardware store tomorrow

Got my magma kettle mounted in place of the flag pole. I'll be using my masthead light to fly a 2'x3' flag

She has her name and matching registration numbers!

LED maglight holder. It's amazing how far off you can spot a marker with the reflective tape with this thing. Way more reliable than any rechargeable flood. This is the 3rd boat for this one.

I got my Bimini's up today and started to install the snaps in my new forward isinglass from great lakes boat top. Unfortunately 2 things happened. F

The garbage Chinese snap tool deformed and was not properly compressing the ferrules. Almost every one isn't sufficiently crimped. Then I ran out of black snaps.

I have the sailrite unit and 150 black snaps on order, but unfortunately I need to finish the snaps before I can launch.

It seems like all the complicated things went off without a single issue. The simple things are what's messing with me.

Well, I said screw it and launched without the canvas being done.

It ran very well and the electronics worked great with the exception of a small idle stumble coming back to neutral. Seems like a TPS or IAC since troll control isn't working well either. I gotta get my Mercruiser guy to come check it

I need to get my cruisair looked at. compressor and pump run, water flows but no heat or cool. Probably needs some refrigerant. Fortunately one of my generator customers is a cruisair dealer

I think my smartcraft transducer tube may have a tiny weep, dried the bilge and will monitor.

All in all very happy. Definitely needs automatic tabs, adjusting trim is a full time job. I have to write a message to Mente Marine out of Finland. They have a trim tab control system that looks interesting and retrofits Bennett hydraulic tabs. I don't really want to do the lenco conversion, already way over my budget.

It also uses more gas than I was expecting at 23-24 MPH. not too much worried about operating costs but not a whole lot of range with a 90 gallon tank.
