Yo - thinking about going up to Peanut Island this Saturday and staying over at Sailfish Marina and rafting up on Sunday. anyone interested?

Randy

Ha! We're going to the Winterlude Festival in Ottawa to see the ice carvings, and skate on the 7 mile skating canal!

still getting all the details worked out but it looks like we would be leaving Delray 11:00 ish, cruisin up the ICW, arrive at Peanut, raft up for the afternoon then check in to Sailfish. We have 1 other boat and about 10 on our boat. some of the folks will be camping on the island. not sure about breakfast on Sunday, Sailfish has an awesome brunch. Raft up again on Sunday then head back (haven't determined what time yet).

The marina has plenty of room, I checked yesterday.

Sound good?

That sounds fun - It might be a bit long taking the ditch the whole way, so I might shoot out Hillsboro and take the ocean up due to the no-wake zones over the weekend.

It looks like there's an inlet right next to the island itself, but I've never been up there. Is it a fairly tame inlet and is it well-marked?

Thanks,
Tim

The Lake Worth inlet is awesome, well marked, easy to navigate and shoots you right into Peanut. Here is a web cam of the inlet -

Check NOAA because the ocean is supposed to be rough on Saturday.

Randy,
You're the webcam man - every time I ask about something, you happen to know a webcam pointing at it - any chance you have a webcam pointing at the shower room of those plus-sized ladies we saw from the other 'wives' thread? LOL.

Thanks for the insight - we'll play it by ear, but it'll be a long day going 35 miles up the ditch at no wake, so I think we'll very likely take our chances near shore or maybe sit this one out.

Awwww man.... why did you have to go and ask for THAT?:smt021

It looks goregeous, and I'd love to but our dog sitter backed out and I don't let ol' Gus on the boat - he's too much of a walking trainwreck. For the first time, and hopefully the only time, we'll have to bow out of this one.

Enjoy and I'm sure I'll see some pics on Monday :)

Randy,

We saw that last night...got out late and cruised around...might go back out today.

Is there room to dock at Peanut on the East side at the public dock? I'm 14' beam and don't know if I can get in there...I don't have a dingy.

Thanks,

John at PGA

Hi John - sorry I didn't get back with you until now, just very busy on Sunday.

I don't know about docking at Peanut. I wanted to find out but ran out of time. We wondered the same thing.
