Teen girl who 'identifies as cat' allowed to 'act like a feline' in school

The student allegedly has permission to act like a feline and be non-verbal in class, so long as her behaviour does not distract other youngsters at the private school.

A school is reportedly supporting a "phenomenally bright" teen girl who identifies as a cat. The student allegedly has permission to act like a feline and be non-verbal in class, so long as her behaviour does not distract other youngsters at the private school in Melbourne, Australia.

While the school did not confirm the report, it said in a statement that pupils were displaying "a range of issues, from mental health, anxiety or identity issues". According to the Mirror, it added: "Our approach is always unique to the student and we will take into account professional advice and the wellbeing of the student."

It is one of a number of cases recently reported in Australia. In Brisbane, a group of four female students are said to have taken to walking on all fours and cutting holes in their uniforms to make room for tails.

It is believed they were identifying as either foxes or cats. Claims, denied by the school, included one from a parent who told the Courier Mail a girl had screamed at another student for "sitting on her tail". It is not confirmed if the girls involved believe themselves to be part of the 'furry' subculture, in which people identify with animal traits.

Our Safer Schools explained: "The internet is a constantly changing global forum that is filled with many different types of communities. These communities often allow people to express themselves in a way that frees them from what they consider to be societal “norms.”

Well, for all of us that say "Just wait til they get out in the real world...." This is becoming the real world. These crazy ideas when not arrested, grow and develop. Now tons of companies have gone woke. They have boardrooms full of the college students from decades ago that had crazy/destructive ideas. We said (me included) 'just wait' with them, too.

These kids don’t have gender identity issues, they have mental health issues, and the jurisdictions that are “accommodating” them are guilty of gross negligence in not providing them with the professional help they are crying out for.

I said 20 years ago that this 'every kid gets a trophy' will lead to bigger issues. While the trophy thing may not have been directly responsible, it was the feeling of being 'owed' and not being accountable that has led us to where we are.

Yeah, the internet gets out of hand sometimes. I have a kid at a highschool that’s gone viral for one of these. The kids think it’s hilarious seeing their school go viral. It’s all fun and games until the school gets weirdos showing up. If anything, the kids have become the mature adults. They’re separating themselves from the whole thing and not perpetuating rumors.
Weirdo kids have always existed in schools but people never used to notice them much… but now they have the internet. We don’t hear much from the rest of the kids because they’re busy being normal and not existing on the internet. I bet Australian litter box girl is getting a kick out the attention from all over the world though lol

I think the not expected issue with "everyone gets a trophy" is the mental health issues kids have these days. Back in my day if you had "low self esteem" you got a boot up your arse. You learned to deal with it.

Saw Darens dad today at the grocery store and was telling him I'm glad Daren stood his ground and that it worked out. He was telling me the superintendent was fired over this and many parents were finally made aware of things going on in the school that they weren't happy about. One being boys using girls restrooms. Parents were in an uproar when they found out this had been going on

It's a real thing in our local high school...
 
It in the colleges. When we did orientation with our little one in August, a group of students walked out onto the stage and introduced themselves. The idea was, our kids would go in groups with these students and tour the school while instructors and facility folks talked with us over the next few hours.

When the 8 or so students lined up on stage, they introduced themselves in this order. Name, “Preferred Pronoun”, major and minor, years attended and what they liked about the U. There was only one who identified as a plural, “they/them”. My leg was bruised from the Admiral squeezing so hard.

It is real. My wife works at a vo-tech school, which is made up of students from the 8 districts in the county. It is happening in at least one of those districts for certain
 
Come on man....you want us to believe some schools got giant litterboxes, maybe 3'x5', for kids to poop in. Must be no complaints from the janitors when they gotta scoop a couple pound pile of crap out of the box. No complaints on the stink, no complaints on a little extra splatter due to some bean powered explosive shits.

Gee, if it was at least something that could be believable like putting a section of street curbing into the school and the kids could pretend to be homeless in Philadelphia taking a dump.;)

My attempt at sarcasm. Scary that it took so long for anyone to follow the link, scarier that some folks still think the litter boxes are a real thing.
