Anyone have any good (at the moment U.S Based) CAT surveyors in the 1000 Islands region? Milton CAT wants $1,100 in travel costs to get to a boat we're looking at since they're a few hours away

Unfortunately, I don't know who else to get to do this and its not cheap. I think I paid $1600 two years ago in FL. Travel time/milage to boat plus 2 techs for 8 hours...it added up. Best money I spent on the survey. Unfortunately, getting CAT to look at or do something is pricy, but ultimately its got to be done. The upshot is they had all the right tools and supplies to get it done. The ran the boat from stone cold to WOT and looked at all the major systems, and gave me a pretty accurate report on what needed attention.

Appreciate it. I’ll definitely do it if they’re the best option, it’s about 3k total for 8 hours including travel. I’m a little concerned they don’t have a “set” plan that the rep could speak of. She was a little generic saying they check the motors overall, run coolant and oil analysis, and will be present for the sea trial portion of thesurvey

the same dealer recently (April) did the 1000 hour service (motors have about 800 hours) as well. That included impellers, fluids, Valve check and adjustment, and some other misc stuff that I’ll see tomorrow on the service records
