I just finished cleaning, soaking all 3 carbs, and installing new carb gaskets. During that ordeal, one of the carbs throttle spring was deformed and not letting me finish the last carb. After 3 hours on that last carb getting very frustrated.

I gave up. Started calling around, looking on line, etc... NO LUCK!!

I was doomed, no boat the rest of the summer. After I calmed down. I came up with a idea to heat it up just a little. Bend it back to normal, or the best I can. If it breaks, I was doomed regardless, so why not.

Took a bic lighter, 2 needle nose pliers, and went to work. The carb is back together again. Whew. Not water tested yet.

Just scary, that a small part ( spring) can ruin a summer. Makes me rethink about this purchase.

You were ready to throw in the towel for the season and are rethinking the purchase over a spring?

Consider golf.

Heat can take the temper out of a spring and weaken it. You are better off manipulating it at room temp. Hope all works out for you.

I don't want to throw in the towel. During the time of the "frustrating " spring moment, and calling all over the place, and nobody had it or had no ideal where to get it. It wasn't looking to good.

So after I cleared my head, I got it done. I'm just glad I did. Because if it was actually broken and not just out of shape a little. It would have been down for a long time. Not because of an expensive part, just a very hard to get part.

In the next few days, I will call around looking for a blown engine. It will be a good back up
