I am having an issue with my tilt motor. When the switch is flipped I hear some clicking from the engine area but the sterndrive does not move. I would like to make sure that the wiring is good, so I would like to trace it to the switch, but I cannot find any diagrams to help me locate the tilt motor, and I am unsure what it looks like to even search for it. Does anyone have a link to a good diagram for the location in the engine compartment or can someone point me in the right direction of where this motor is located?

Thanks

Googling will return plenty of results - something like "Mercruiser trim pump wiring" - something like that, anways.

Finding the tilt motor? It's the thing making the noise! Or, again, just google.

But, you have power going to the pump's solenoids as evidenced by them clicking. Solenoids can fail where they still click, but don't make enough contact to pass enough amperage. If you want, go ahead and jump the solenoid. But the most common culprit is a failing solenoid - replace both while you're there. There's lot's of info on this on the net and even on this forum that you can find by searching.

One caveat... based on the info you've mentioned, you may want to seek the help of someone with experience. The last thing you want to do is try and save $ by doing it yourself, only to make a $$$ mistake.
