So, I am looking to get another boat. While I fully intend on keeping my 250DA as I love it and, will be using it as my office, or, at least a 2nd place to work from in the upcoming spring/summer months, I am hankering after something a little more sporty.

Now I know Sea Ray offer sporty bowriders, as, looked at a beautiful 280 Sun Deck at my local dealer, this is a great boat, but, at just south of $79000w is a little out of my bracket.

I then, stumbled across the Yamaha 242S Limited. This is just about as perfect a fun boat I have seen yet, does anybody have any experience with Yamaha Jet boats?

Regards

Jake.

Any thoughts on a used SunDeck? I looked at the Yamaha boats and couldn't believe the cost. I decided to go with the more traditional boat and power plant and bought a 2004 SunDeck for about 1/3 of the cost of the jet boats.

one thing to consider with the jet is if you are planning to trailer or leave it in the water. jet boats on our brakish river here do not fair well, unless lifted or removed on almost a weekly basis to keep the jets free from growth, barnicles and corrosion.

Cheaply made boats, noisy, and are fuel hogs. The Yammie's are currently the best (and only) available in that size. This summer you canalso compare to a Chaparral 243 Vortex and scarab 240 jet boats, of which quality, fit and finish is a step up from Yamaha.
