2017 350 Sundancer Coupe: Toggle switch at helm for cockpit lights/blue lights works only in the up position for cockpit lights but not down for blue lights. Thanks for any help.

When you look at the back of the switch, the wire for the cockpit lights will be connected to the bottom connection. The down position sends 12v to the upper connection. Check to see that the wire from the blue light is connected there. Also check to see that you have 12v available at that connection when you push the toggle down. IF so, check for a good ground connection for the blue lights. Also, if the switch happens to be a double pole switch, it will require a jumper wire from one pole to the other to activate both poles. If it is a double pole switch, make sure your second circuit (blue lights) is on the same side of the switch as the cockpit lights and then the jumper wire is not needed. If the blue lights are LED you may need to reverse the present polarity to get them to work. Good luck

Thanks for the help. It is tight quarters getting into the space where the backs of the switches are but will I can check it out. One second they were all working and then they weren’t. Thought perhaps an in-line fuse may have burned out.

Are the blue lights factory or installed by a previous owner? The reason I ask is the factory will usually not use inline fuses. Also, are the lights incandescent?

The reason I ask, and something to check,... I had a problem with the lights in all the outside storage compartments on my RV. The previous owner had daisy chained all the lights together so in effect every light bulb filament was a fuse for the system. If one bulb burned out, they all went out. Not likely for your boat but if there are multiple bulbs that have quit all at once, then it has to be a fuse or bad connection. That bad connection can be in either the positive or grounding system. If they were working and now not, that eliminates the possibility of wrong polarity for LEDs. Start at the switch with your multimeter to verify power and then check for 12v at the receptacles. The problem will become apparent as you keep following wires. A few appropriate exclamations may be in order.;)

These are the lights that accent the cockpit under the seats, around the sunroof and light up on the transom. I checked the plug and all connections are intact. Going to try Marinemax and see if they can shed some light on it.
