Towing with a 2wd

The following commentary does not ponder to opine on the efficacy of a two wheel drive versus a four wheel drive on a ramp OTHER than concrete. I have very, very limited experience with non-concrete ramps. But on concrete...

A two wheel drive vehicle should pull a 180 up a ramp with NO problem. The only time I would expect wheel slip is either a very slightly used ramp (muck buildup on the ramp) or hitting the accelerator too hard when starting out. It's not about gunning it once you are ready to go. I've been towing a 220SD with my 2002 2WD Durango for a while now. Can only remember slipping once.

BTW, slipping is one of my biggest fears at the boat ramp. Watched too many of those You Tube videos showing tow vehicles going backwards...

Thanks again for all your replies, as for how long I will keep the boat it will be several years before I consider another boat. And this is my 3rd boat so I have plenty of
ramp experience but my current and previous tow vehicles have been 4x4's so this is why I asked, plus the only ramps I use are concrete and I figured I would be ok but I just wanted to ask the people who know.
