I have 480 Sedan Bridge 1999 with the DDEC Detroits. Wnt to change the transmission oil but cant find anywhere what fluid or oil they take. and quantity. Can anyone help ?

What transmissions do you have? I have 6v92's and Alison drives. If that's the case for you, the drive oil is straight 40w engine oil and is removed through the dip stick.

Twin disk 5114A use straight 40w. I have those with my Cats.

I can only state what I know to be true about Detroit's of that era. If your that unsure contact a twindisc parts supplier or dealer with your model number and find out what is right for your transmission. Also botadiesel.com, it's worth the money to join. If you check your transmission fluid and it's engine oil, then it should be 40w. Also, do not use synthetic, only straight 40w oil. I use shell rotella sae 40w for the engines and valvoline or cheveron for the transmission. Transmission oil should be as clear as possible so you can tell the state of the trans. easier. JMO.
