Hello, my Airmar transducer, installed in 2012, on my 2004 260 Sundancer, is no longer working. There is no indication of depth on the Smartcraft so it must need replacement. I unplugged the harness and reattached but that did not help and there is no bottom paint covering it. Is that normal to have no indication with a failure or should some sort of indication be there on the Smartcraft such as dashed lines? Would a Smartcraft reset help? I have reset the Smartcraft before for fuel used. Does that reset the entire Smartcraft?

I am not in a hurry to replace the Smartcraft transducer as I have a Garmin transducer that came with my Echomap 74 and will install that. Garmin says:
  • The location should be as close to the center of the boat, and on the side prop wash. On most engines, this will be on the starboard (right) side.

With a Bravo three is a right side mount still the best? Does anyone have a picture of where they mounted the transducer on the transom? I looked at the Garmin instructions but pictures are always helpful. I really appreciate this group’s experience and insight. Thank you.
