I noticed last weekend my Starboard Trans temp was 30 deg. higher than the port 160 deg Starboard and 130 port. I cleaned the Trans cooler last night and found some minor clogged tubes 6 at most. Any ideas?

the first step would be to verify temperatures with a secondary infared or temp probe. it is possible that the port gauge is reading low. Bothe temps are well within the safe range. transmissions are all about pressure. if you want to be confident there are no issues i would recommend you have a qualified tech with the right gauge do a pressure test. this is the bottom line test for a transmission. is the fluid clean? no smell of burnt fluid?

I have an 04 390 DA with the same engine and transmisson. I have a similiar but have 145 deg F on one side and 160 deg F on the other.

Just curious as I want to install temp gauges on my trannys. Where are the sending units located on the trannys and do they sense fluid temp?

Clogged? How so? Debris, seaweed or constricted with hard buildup? These can likely be serviced by a radiator place. Boiled out with muriatic acid and any constricted tubules replaced.

I pulled the cooler and cleaned the tubes with a small wire brush and compressed air. They were clogged with calcifications. The problem was diagnosed as a broken clutch pac. We pulled the trans and had it rebuilt by a ZF dealer and placed it back. She runs great and at normal temps.

Wow. Didn't see the date of the original question. Glad you got it sorted out!

That worries me. I just got my "new to me" 05 390 home after a 4-day trip and the starboard tranny is running 35 degrees hotter and it doesn't always engage in reverse at idle...I'm hoping it's just low on fluid-I'll check it today.

If you don't have a record of trany coolers being cleaned I'd say they're due for service.
