At an idle my 410 V drive trans. makes a growling noise. I have had a mechanic and a surveyer look at this at different times and locatoins and they both said this is normal, anyone know anything about this?

Growling or chattering? A growling would indicate possible bearings. Chattering at idle is normal. Usually a bad ignition part causing a little slop in rotation.

Does it go away when you push the RPMs past 1000 or so?

Flex plate is probably the cause. They can get noisy. I am sure some others will chime in saying the same thing.

My port transmission is a little noisey but only when hot. It goes away when it cools down. It only gets noisey after long trips on plane. Changed the fluids, no pieces or debris. No change in noise. Also told by others it's normal in V-Drives.

I assume you mean at idle in gear.
In neutral it should be silent.
I agree it is normal, if just above idle the noise gos away.
The flex plate (engine to tranny connector) rattles a little at idle.
This part very rarely fails and is too much trouble to change for a little rattle.
"Usually a bad ignition part causing a little slop in rotation" Very true statement. A standard tune up may help.

It would be better descibed as chatter and it goes away at higher rpm so it sounds like I really have nothing to worry about. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR RESPONSES!

Just what everyone else said... Don't worry about it, but change your plugs, cap, and rotor in the near future.
