I know.....kind of a dumb question but, here goes anyway!

I have a crack in the handle of my shower sprayer handle, so I need to replace it.

What's the right part?

What thread size is it? I have found some with 1/2" thread size, some with 20MM thread size......etc, etc.

My boat is an hour away and I am ordering from home, so I'd like to get it right the first time!

Appreciate any advice you can offer so it fits out of the box!

I bought mine from replacementboatparts.com.

The part number above is correct, but is no longer available. The replacement part number is 201738. It's about $80 and comes with a new, 8' hose and the trim plate.

I couldn't find the thread size, either. But 1/2" seems to ring a bell. I would venture a guess that most of the ones you see on that other link would work. Just do your best to match it up size-wise so it fits the opening. In looking the parts, while nothing tells me the handle's part number, everything that DOES have a size listed says 1/2".

Guys, I really, really appreciate the quick responses.......I too was concerned, not just about the thread size, but whether an after-market sprayer will fit down into the opening.

Does this one look like a good fit?

Not "cheap", but not $80 either! But if it doesn't work, the savings won't matter much.

I'm not "sure" of any of the ones that seem like they might work. It's the whole thread size thing. While I think it's going to turn out to be 1/2" thread, I see some other sprayers that have slightly different thread sizes and I know it could just as easily be those.

I need to verify the right size, so I guess I will have to bite the bullet with Marine Max, unless one of you guys have a definitive answer. The part numbers you guys were so kind in providing don't specify the thread size no matter where I look. I'll make the call and post the answer here.

Take your existing handle (or hose) to a local hardware store and see if you can match up the threads. They often have a little "thread matcher upper thingy" somewhere in the store. :smt001

Looks like I am going to HAVE to do that.....wait until you guys see the response I got from Marine Max when I asked about the thread size (for the second time.....the first time they just ignored the question), in my attempt to avoid spending almost ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS (yes, believe it or not, $97 and change!) for a couple dollar sprayer handle:

"Good morning,
The shower nozzle thread are not standard to anything and they do not disclose what the thread size is."

Not standard to ANYTHING??? Not a SINGLE THING ON EARTH????

Am I to believe that Sea Ray invented a WHOLE NEW THREAD SIZE, one that ONLY Sea Ray uses and NO ONE ELSE???

AND, am I to believe that NO ONE at Sea Ray will divulge the "secret" of what that "proprietary size" IS????

UGH!!!!!!!!:smt013

Guys, I "get" that it's a "B.O.A.T", but NO WAY am I going to believe that NOTHING ELSE will fit except that $97 dollar spray handle.

I don't know if the guy at MM think's I am 5 years old or an idiot, but I am neither.

What I am is EXTREMELY frustrated with a response like that. I'll get to the bottom of this, and I will let you all know how it turns out, unless one of you guys has the answer and enlightens me first.

Replacementboatparts.com will have what you need, I'm sure of it.
You could always call them and see what they say, their prices are good also.

My transom shower handle got stuck in the "on" position last summer and, of course, started to empty out my fresh water tank while I was out on the water for the day. We needed water for the head, so I had to think on the fly. I opened my engine hatch, put two kinks in the hose leading to the transom shower, and taped the kink using bandage tape from my first aid kit. It was tight enough to stop the water.

It's been like that ever since. I'm following this thread because I need to change out that handle.

Reminds me of my Marina... I needed the "knob" that's underneath the cockpit table, you tighten the knob and it keeps the plastic round table from spinning and tipping over on that pole. The Marina said sea ray doesn't make or stock just the knob and the "assembly" part is $68 plus shipping... I marched my a$$ down to Home Depot and made one myself for $1.86!!! I like to get sea ray parts when I can, but I do have my "limits" too... Just sayin...

Buy a $5 plastic kitchen sink spray wand head and see if it fits. If it does, you have all your answers, plus an unlimited range of choices for a good one.
