TRUMP 2024

I paid 3.79 for gas yesterday. This was 87 octane, not premium. I can tell you exactly what gas prices were and when they went up.

May 11, 2019 - 2.99
Jan 1, 2020 - 2.59
January 13, 2021 - 2.47
January 15, 2022 - 3.39

Election was November 3, 2020. October 26th I paid 1.35. December 23rd it was 2.43. February 26, 2021 it was 2.95 and continued going up from there.
Exactly… thank you for proving out the concept of supply and demand. Your data directly coincides with the decrease and increase in demand as the country fell into and then steadily rose out of Covid restrictions.

Sure supply and demand had some to do with it but pre-covid it was still under $3. As soon as Biden was sworn in and doing everything in his power to cut production prices went up. No coincidence there. Again, supply and demand. Joe cuts the supply so prices go up. They will start running it up the next few months so they can drop it just before the election so they can say 'look, we brought gas prices down'. Meanwhile it's still over 50% higher than it was when Trump left.

You are so smart! But you are only focused on demand. We could increase the supply to meet demand but your boi Brandon has blocked that at every turn.

Ok, maybe you aren't smart since you only focused on demand. The demand curve shifted but the supply curve did not even though we have the ability to shift the supply curve, regulatory rather than economic forces keep that from occuring. And I'm sure you know what the term is for artificially holding back supply, right?

Which part is the “communism” in your scenario?

You really don't understand basic economics. Probably best you deleted your 7 paragraph novel on things you don't understand. Post something on the loop.
Actually, I understand basic economics. From reading your answers, I'm not sure you do, but I liked the stagflation answer. I don't think stagflation is happening but it is hard to stop runaway inflation and not cause harm, which is what my reading claims is happening.

Good politics, demands the opposition, Trump, harp on the injustice of inflation but it doesn't mean you have to take the hook. As a business person, read the business press to gain knowledge instead listening to partisan crap on your radio, as you drive, that makes you mad.

I've asked several times if anybody knows what makes America great? It has been crickets for a couple of weeks so I will give you the answer. The "peaceful" transfer of power, before US it was always a military fight. We have led much of the world to try it.

Trump's whiny "they stole it" was slap in the face of every American. It hurt to read all the dumbass posts, well he hasn't been to court so not guilty. Those posts are a sad display of spinelessness.

I'm flattered that you asked, but I'm not going to start a loop thread. The AGLAC has a website with helpful information. They are directly descended from loopers of the 1980's. They have 2 conventions a year and they are the most uplifting meetings you will ever attend.

My best loop advice, is to just do it. Last year only 250 boats finished the loop and 800 summited Mt Everest, so if you finish you will have done a very rare feat. The first 10 feet are the hardest and the farther you go the more fun you will have. I spent 2 weeks running around the Bahamas and it was FABULOUS.

People on the forum have a headstart as the SeaRay brand boat is the perfect brand for the loop. We didn't encounter near the operational problems other boaters did. If you have any specific questions send me a message.

I came to the thread to learn why normal people think a whiny silverspoon sucking crook would make a good President. His first term was middling poor. It ended poorly, poor enough to not be reelected.

I've got my answer, ignorance is the main reason, I've found on this thread. The "bro-befo-ho" culture rewards slick put downs over thoughtful discourse. Searching for memes doesn't fix the ignorance issue. Partisan shows on the radio and television, broadcast or streamed are not going magically change you from ignorant to informed either.

Thank you Woody for taking the time to occasionally step out of dumb and dumber culture with thoughtful ideas. My last idea for you, the far left is not Trump's biggest stumbling block, it is the Elephant in the room. Everyday another Conservative is going on record as not endorsing nor voting for Trump.

As I have my answer, I'm no longer following this thread. I might stop by time to time. Thank you all for your help with my education.

I didn't mention stagflation, so I'm not sure what you think I posted. But my responses show a very solid understanding of basic and advanced economics. See my response to the "rule of supply and demand" post.

I am hoping to live long enough to do the loop. I still think it would be an interesting thread, but ok.

We will miss your knowledge and well written posts. I get the frustration but it’s just the same half dozen or so members that respond to most of the posts in this site. They clearly don’t represent all of the members so I take them as the minority with the biggest mouths try and learn from their ignorance. Luckily they still only get one vote in November and they can cry foul all they want but they know who majority voted for and will again. I often wonder how travelled they are as well as they neither care or know what the rest of the worlds opinion of Trump is? Good luck with the boating season because that is the one thing we all have in common!

The US is producing more oil than any country, ever.

Crude oil production in the United States, averaged 12.9 million barrels per day (b/d) in 2023, breaking the previous U.S. and global record of 12.3 million b/d, set in 2019. Average monthly U.S. crude oil production established a monthly record high in December 2023 at more than 13.3 million b/d.

Yet we could produce more. Your point?

:DLMFAO. This is rich coming from a canadian. You are free to vote for Trudeau. Glad you can't vote for chaos....I mean Brandon.

But I will agree, the one thing that brings us together are boats. Hope you and @M & L have a great season.

A lot to unpack in these 3 sentences:

Was Hilary's claim that the election was stolen and Trump was an "illegitimate President" a slap in the face of all Americans? Was the fake dossier a slap in the face of all Americans? I fail to see any difference except the names and parties involved. Tell me how that shows my ignorance.

"dumbass posts, well he hasn't been to court so not guilty". Isn't that part of what makes America great? Presumed innocent until PROVEN guilty in a court of law is now a display of spinelessness? What a sad view of our country you have. Well actually, your TDS is showing.
