twin 470 charging system

Well my hole in the water just smoked the stator on the stbd side and I believe the port side isn't charging either so I'm going to replace them both with an alternator conversion kit. My boat is a vintage 77 searay sda srv 240 Sundancer with twin 470's. I have put alot time,money and effort into getting her upgraded and restored back to normal. What I need to find out is if anyone else have installed these kits, what brand did you use,did you use the upper or lower mounted unit, and if so did you have any issues with clearances. I have asked for measurements for the bottom mount from Breeze but no answer back yet on that or the alternator amperage. I really need some imfo before investing another 600.00 into the boat and finding out it doesn't fit or is not going to work. Any feedback will be helpful.
