Twin 5.0 efi loss of power

Stretcher. How ya make out with it

Got it dropped and regulator installed. Fuel pump tomorrow. Only one cut on the hand so far. It’s not horrible once the stuff is unbolted but still a pia. I’ll update you tomorrow once I run it. Thanks for all the help

Np. Just after you do it change out water seperator and run seafoam through it at 2000 rpm for like acouple minutes. Be amazed on how it ckeans your injectors

Yup I did a treatment last filter gonna don’t again tomorrow. Did you use the one that smokes like hell or just the additive one?

Well, it’s done. But not totally fixed. It still turns up to about 4K but the other motor easily runs up to 4600. Seems to make more power now though.

I need to do proper diagnosis and put a gauge on it, but I might just pull the tank pickup off and blow that line out to be sure it’s not shitted up

I’m still leaning towards a fuel problem, but the new distributor will go on this week as well

The other thing I’m going to do is pull the rubber joints at the elbows and look at the flappers. There’s a possibility I lost one down the y pipe which could also cause this

Yeah. I lost a flapper once. Found metal piece at port by drive. I replaced all 4 this year when i did my manifolds, risers and boots. I carry 2 extra boots and extra flapper on board now just in case it ever goes and im out to sea

Were fixed. Replaced the distributor and times both motors to 8 degrees locked in service mode. I was WAY Out on the motor that was slugging, probably 15 degrees or more. I’m turning up to 4500 on both motors now and they run better than I can remember. The nut in the old disti clamp was barely finger tight.

I guess the PSA here is check your timing, it’s so easy but can be catastrophic
