My son had the family out on the fishing boat...Don't trust him on the Sea Ray yet...His mother took the pics below and the video.
notice the look on his face as he views the tornado, look at my daughter txt me that she is going to die...

This first video is when they make the turn in the bay for home...They realize its a twister and they are screwed...the twister kept pulling the back of the boat sideways...
This is when they make it to the opposite side of the bay and dock as it's taking out the docks across the bay and flipping a neighbors pontoon up in his yard.

First off, I hope (and it appears) everyone is ok. They were very lucky.

Second...you don't mess with Mother Nature. These days, it's so easy to see weather radar, forecasts etc off of phones - there's really no reason to get caught in that situation. Hopefully a lesson safely learned.

Respectfully, WTF where they doing out there?

I think I stated that the app they were using...Intellicast which was bought by Weather Underground actually had data 35 min behind where it actually was. They honestly thought they had plenty of time based off the data they were given...with that said we now have a paid service on all devices...

My wife said it was an awesomely beautiful day... they got an alert on the phone that they were under a warning. So they pulled up the Radar and they had plenty of time...Not realizing the Radar loop was 35 min behind actual time...They issued a Watch about 15 min after it was over. It turned Ugly in the span of 10 min.

Holy crap. I think I'd be screaming at my sister to help secure the boat instead of filming...unless they were sure it was moving away from them.

Glad things worked out. There are lots of free weather apps, undoubtedly local TV stations have them, as well as NOAA and a variety of other sources.

They should learn to read the clouds. Weather apps suck. That was way to close for comfort. Glad it all turned out ok.

Wow...there's some excitement...looks like the kid did good in evading it and keeping out of harms way! Might have earned himself an upgrade in his boating license !

And "Yup"...learning to read the sky seems to always beat the electronics!
