I was watching ship shape TV and saw this product called barnical zapper.
http://barnaclezapper.com/
Has anyone else seen this or used it? How effective is it compared to paint?

One friend years ago in a South Florida had miserable results with a similar system.
Total waste of money...this is likely a different manufacture and might work .... ?

I have to think, if it works..you'd see a lot less bottom painting in all the yards of the world.

Yeah seems like a pipe dream, but if it works...

I have a couple friends who are always battling barnicalls and was curious if it actually works.

If we had your barnacles maybe we could feed them to our zebra mussels...

Color me skeptical this will work.

An undisclosed side affect is the electronic signal makes your dock neighbors even crazier...

I watched the same show last week, did a little research it seems to work on some materials especially metal like boat lifts.

Some of the side effects it produces can be ultrasonic waves can really confuse other species like salmon, trout etc, if salmon are trying to get up river to spawn it can cause them to get confused on the direction they should be going, small fries can loose direction to get out to sea.
