My Raymarine RL70c seems to be on it's last leg. Unit is loosing "fix" and does not want to power up sometimes. When I hit a large wake, it will re start. Had the GPS antenna replaced a few years ago. I can correct the "Lost Fix" problem by powering down the batteries and repowering. But the failing power button seems to be the death nail. Am also having all the electric connections checked.

Not ready to spend $5K to upgrade as I understand the radar, cable and all needs to be replaced as it is not compatible with the newer models.

Anyone know of any place that sells refurbished units, or have any other suggestions to make this old dog last a few more seasons?

They are in South Florida and EXCELLENT to deal with. If your overall happy with your system call them and describe your issues, he will likely give you a ball park quote over the phone as its likely he will know exactly what's wrong and what he needs to fix.

If not he sells used\refurbished equipment.

I have have the same unit. I have had issues with the unit not powering up. It turned out the issue was my fuse block. I need to wiggle the fuses to get it to work. You might have a similar issue.
If you are still having issues at the end of this summer, I will sell you mine very reasonably. The gps display and radar both work but I want to upgrade to newer equipment.

Gps antenna has a battery that can be replaced (easy diy) and may fix that issue. Make sure your power feed to the unit and Radome is high enough gauge wire and the batteries are good. Both of those can give the symptoms you are describing.

Or just upgrade. The new electronics are pretty "cool". If you plan on keeping the boat, bite the bullet and enjoy the new tech.

Thanks Hoping to at least get thru this season. If you end up upgrading, let me know and maybe we can work something out.

There are quite a few used ones for sale on ebay right now.
