user manual for CAT 3116

Good morning
Can anyone send to me user manual for CAT 3116 motor.
I was asking CAT dealer in our country but without success.
Answer from SeaRay support is that I need to contact CAT.
I am a new owner of old 400DA from 1998 and I have no
manuals for CAT. So I do not know what I need to do or
what I need to check before departure.

Try this link, it is to the Marine Cat website, there is some literature you can download in pdf format, (acrobat reader), there is also a dealer locater that may locate a dealer close enough to you that you can work with them. I hope this will help.

The manual you need is Caterpillar publication number SEBU6164-02.......Operation and Maintenance Manual for 3116/3126 Marine Engines. There was also a parts list and a bunch of stuff on initial Cat warrantys that came with the owner's packet for the boat, but the Maintenance manual is the key one to have.

Also, Caterpillar published a very good video tape of the maintenance proceedures for the 3116/3126, perhaps it is still available from Cat.

So I have this photo on the wall here at the office of an on the water scene I photographed long ago. One of my co-workers asks about it. "Do you remember the Statue of Liberty rededication in 1986?" I ask. Then I look and realize that she's twenty-something and I'm talking ancient history. Oh well.

What can I say..........it was published in about 1995 and is still shown on their website. I long ago made a DVD copy of mine.

I don't think there's a PDF version. I believe you have to order the books from CAT directly.
