We went on a week long camping trip, it was myself, the wife, and my mom on our boat.
A few days into it the toilet wouldn't flush, there wasn't any vacuum.
I have read plenty of threads on here about vacuum flush problems, but had never had any myself.
I really had no clue how the system operates, and the parts and pieces.
We also were in an area that was so remote there wasn't any cell service for appx 35 miles or so.
I dove into it pretty early that day, just started taking things apart trying to figure out why.
I ended up taking it to the pump out station and pumping it out and pumping the line out between the toilet and tank.
Jim(Sundancer) was with us and helped me out, it can get pretty windy where we were and the help is greatly appreciated.
Anyways, I took just about everything apart that morning trying to fix it, otherwise our trip was probably going to be cut short.
I cleaned the duckbill valves, and took the top off of the vacuum tank.
When I was putting things back together I dropped a screw into the vacuum generator bellows and had to remove it to get the screw.
This was my last attempt at fixing it.
When I did that, I discovered an oring out of place.
It ended up being the large oring that went between the Bellows and the vacuum tank.
I got it fixed finally, but I must have spent four hours or more in that shit.
Luckily I had a box of nitrile gloves with me.
It actually wasn't too bad since I pumped it out really good.
I got very intimate with the vacu flush system that day, and now I actually know how it works.
I will be replacing the duckbill valves.
Just thought I'd share this event as it almost made us come back early. My mom's 80, and I needed to have it working for the night time.
Now I need to find where to order the duckbill valves.
The town we were at is called Stehekin, amazingly beautiful place.

MarineSan is our choice vendor but there are many.

CRUISER noun
a person that repairs their own boat in unfamiliar places. :)

Good Job saving the day. Well done!

There is such satisfaction in figuring out a serious issue rather than being relegated to calling 'The Guy' and writing a big check. Good Job.

We drove by your son's restaurant, but we launched from a different area so we didn't have time to stop in.
I got the new duckbill valves ordered from Marinesan.
