I have replaced the 4 duckbill valves, but the vacuflush will not cut out with the vacuum switch unless the seacock is open.

Anyone have any ideas?

Cheers,
Stuart

There needs to be free flow after the pump in order for it to create enough vacuum. The first questions would be about your setup... Do you have a black water holding tank? And if so, is there a y valve between the vacuum pump and the holding tank? If no holding tank, then a closed sea cock would prevent proper operation. The same is true if there is a y valve, and it is set to direct flow to the sea cock, instead of the holding tank.

Of course, there could be a blockage after the pump.

Check the holding tank vent to make sure it is not clogged. When was the last time you changed the vent filter?

there is no holding tank, and no vent, just strait from the vacuum tank to the seacock. Must have had some backyard plumbing done by a previous owner.

Is direct to water for sewage legal in Australia. In Washington there are pump outs every where and they are free. In BC there are a few. The rule is you can dump when you are 3 miles from shore. In Washington you need to lock off your through hull valve.

Well if you have no holding tank and the output of the Vacuum generator just goes to the Seacock then yes it has to be open in order to have a vacuum created in the Vacuum tank.
Think about how it has to work. The vacuum pump pumps air out of the vacuum tank. That air has to go somewhere and if the Seacock is closed it has nowhere to go.

what do you need a picture of???? he has a vacuum pump, a hose, and a thruhull seacock that discharges directly overboard. Missing a few very important pieces that you wont see in the pic.
