VHF radio handset cords, Ray215, Ray230, Ray240, Northstar NS100, others?

Not to hijack the thread but any help for the Northstar black box to handset cable that I need which has 2 broken pins and I can't solder them, so I insert metal pins into the handset cable end (female) then try to kiss the pins to broken points, but in choppy seas it is moving and I lose vhf.
Great thanks if any body can shed some light to me.

Yikes! I just can't see $200 for a mic cable. At that point wouldn't you just replace the VHF? I am still running a Ray 215 but my issue is that I keep breaking the mic cradles

I was thinking the same thing. I get the appeal of keeping the radio, but at this point the youngest one is at least 13 years old. Seems like a lot to spend on and old piece of electronics that pretty easily replaced entirely.

Yeah, just a bit pricey.
I got cables for $10, but just can not find that connector.
Even with a short run, can't cost more than $50-60 per cable to fabricate. ?

Is it possible to open the box and replace the connector?

You have to open the box anyway... there is a small pitch plug on the end of the cable that mates to a surface mount socket. It would be very difficult to go to a different connector set.

The NS100 cord is epoxied in place inside the handset as well. Presents an additional challenge to replace the cord.

For the microphone? Which part number, big page.
And you received it and it plugs up?

The link is what I bought, juts choose the pin number.
For the male plug which is fixed below dash/helm and comes from the black box, there are 10 pins and 2 of them are broke. The mail from China came to my winter home and I'm at my summer place and will see and try to replace it next week or so. If it fits to the hand set's female end will be super easy, if not must cut open the hand set and replace that connector also.
