Not sure if there is a volume switch somewhere but even on 25 watts people can hardly hear me while they do very clearly when I use my handheld portable VHF.

How is your antenna? Mounted vertically, undamaged? Is the cord run away from sources of EMI and is the connector clean, tight and show a good solder tip at the point?
