It wouldn't hurt to check for a loose or busted motor mount along with all the other good advice.

I know this is an old post, but I was wondering if the owner ever found root cause? I've got a similar issue at 1K RPM's after changing out the gimbal bearing and universal joints. A full tune up is next on my list in the spring after winterization. I'll definitely check out the engine mounts if these are truly an issue.
